Can the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) & NaProTECHNOLOGY® help in the treatment of endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a disease that can occur in any menstruating woman, affecting a woman’s reproductive system and perhaps causing infertility. Many women with this condition may have no symptoms at all, while others may experience severe pain around the time of menstruation. Charting your cycles using the CrMS may reveal certain abnormalities in the mucus cycle common in women with endometriosis. However, an accurate diagnosis can only be obtained by a procedure called a laparoscopy.
Most doctors usually recommend the birth control pill as a treatment for endometriosis, thinking that the pill will stop ovulation and therefore suppress the endometriosis. However, we know that the bill control pill has many destructive side effects and does nothing to cure the endometriosis. We call this a “Band-Aid” approach. Once a woman stops taking the birth control pill, the pain will reappear. Surgically removing the endometriosis using a special micro surgery technology is the only effective form of treatment.
